A three-part journey into classroom practice
Follow the arc from community building to ESL practice, GCE design, and real implementation with your students.
Weeks 1–2
Teaching English as a Global Language
Build community, share teaching contexts, and explore ESL best practices with peers and guest experts before choosing ideas to try in your own classroom.

Monitors facilitate small groups so teachers feel safe to share, practice English, and grow friendships across borders.

In facilitated groups, teachers introduce themselves, share school contexts, exchange voice messages, and give constructive feedback. The goal is connection and support—professional growth that also feels human.

No. It is a pedagogical exchange program. You practice English while sharing teaching strategies, exploring English as a global language, and designing Global Citizenship Education activities for your classroom.
Cohorts follow a multi-week virtual model—typically about six weeks—across three parts: Teaching English as a Global Language, Fostering GCE, and classroom implementation, plus opening and closing moments.
English proficiency and reliable internet are required so you can join live sessions, collaborate asynchronously with peers, and complete program activities.
Yes. EFAforTeachers is free of charge. Participants who meet the minimum attendance requirements receive an international certificate of participation.
EFAforTeachers is a dedicated teacher fellowship focused on ESL pedagogy and GCE. The Global Action Hackathon Teacher Coach role guides a student team through a four-week climate-action project. When Teachers applications are closed, the Hackathon can be a way to engage now.
You join a global network of educators. Completing EFAforTeachers can also open priority opportunities to nominate a limited number of students for EFAforStudents in a future edition.
